Hey guys this is another movie review of John Carpenter films I’ve recently become obsessed with him and his crazy movies so let’s jam!
I still have an error so I couldnt upload a picture of Snake in this sequel so I had to use the original film.
I haven’t seen Big Trouble In Little China yet I need to review that soon that is a very popular film so look out for my review on it.
Escape From L. A is a 1996 sequel to the 1981 cult classic Escape From New York which was directed by Dr Frankenstein of horror John Carpenter and this is also directed by him the screenplay of this movie was written by him, Debra Hill and Kurt Russell.
Set in 1998 the city of Los Angeles is full of crime same as the first film, there’s another president and this time its not the president that gets kidnapped its his daughter named Utopia. Snake Plissken is back still badass as ever and he’s exiled to Los Angeles prison he meets the president and he is given a mission to go to this dangerous part of LA kind of like in the first film with the crazies but this is more weirder 😂😂 to rescue his daughter.
I can’t remember the plot to this movie because if I’m honest it was a bit confusing so apologies.
My Thoughts On The Film:
I watched it on Netflix last week… I feel there wasn’t any need to make a sequel to such a legendary, memorable movie it was fine the way it was the story for this film was poor and quite disappointing in my opinion, the special effects…. 😂😂😂😂 Oh boy do I have to talk about them? Aye here we go cheesy as hell, really bad cgi and that glider sequence why!!!!! 🤣 As for the acting it was OK but a bit meh I’ll give Kurt Russell credit he actually put loads of effort in his performance and he was the only one in this who was awesome Snake is just brilliant even though he has the cheapest lines.
The film overall is corny I don’t know how to describe it its hard to be honest because this could have been a good sequel but it wasn’t, I understand to this day Escape From La is loved by Carpenter fans it’s underrated, it’s cheesy but people still love it I just found it hard to like because I freaking love the original but don’t be too offended ya’ll this is my personal opinion on this movie.
I will be reviewing Backdraft very soon I still need to watch the rest of it and then I’ll be reviewing Big Trouble in the future stay tuned Ya’ll.
Hey guys I have a new anime review for ya’ll I haven’t done an anime review for a while now and I do apologise but unfortunately I can’t get a photo of the gang up there’s a stupid error again but anyway let’s jam.
Haruhi Fujioka is a student who likes to dress as a boy she attends a prestigious school called Ouran academy which is for rich kids, when Haruhi wants a quiet place to study she comes across this room where she meets 6 pretty boys Tamaki, Kyoya, Mori , Honey, Hikaru and Kaoru they have a club called The Host Club where they entertain girls with tea and sweets after Haruhi breaks an expensive vase by accident she is forced to become a host in order to pay off her debt for the vase when the boys find out she’s actually a girl they keep her secret.
My Thoughts On The Anime:
I watched this … 2 years ago when I first got into anime it was recommended to me by someone and they said I’d enjoy it and I did I loved this show, I loved the characters and the story it was a funny heartwarming series that had so many feels but now looking back on it I feel its very overrated and I can’t love it like I used to I still listen to the opening Kiss Kiss Fall In Love both in Japanese and English for some reason it’s kinda nostalgic to me but the show itself its just loved by so many people in this community I can’t really jump into the hype again.
For the English Dub this is without a doubt the best dub in anime history fantastic performances by Caitlin Glass as Haruhi, Vic Mignogna as Tamaki, Todd Haberkorn as Kaoru etc etc they were all amazing voice actors as for the Japanese sub I also love Maaya Sakamoto as Haruhi and Mamoru Miyano as Tamaki superb Seiyuus and also my all time favourite artists.
Hey guys I thought I’d make another gay list again of my personal favourite characters from the magical girl genre and sports let’s jam!
. You all know who it is let’s just say it 3. 2.1… Haruka San and Michiru San aka Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune from Sailor Moon and Zoesite and Kunzite forget Amara and Michelle because that was a complete joke 😂😂 I could talk about these ladies all day and annoy the hell out of all you I just love them so much when Sailor Moon is brought up and when people go “Usagi and Mamoru best couple evar” im here like nah Uranus and Neptune best couple evar! I love their relationship they are so fucking perfection I definetly prefer both the original 90’s anime and Crystal as their chemistry is so pure and romantic.
Zoesite and Kunzite are too perfection I love their romance in this anime its incredibly heartbreaking but beautiful unfortunately these two were changed in the dub so Zoesite became a heterosexual woman rather than a full on homosexual man.
I love my Sailor gays ya’ll 😍😁😁
. Touya and Yukito from Cardcaptor Sakura when it comes to choosing gay characters from anime you immediately think about these guys they are so amazing together their romance in this anime is emotional and damn sweet, being a 2000’s puppy I did watch Cardcaptors way back in the day and this relationship as well as Sakura and Syaoran’s was heavily watered down but looking back at the god awful dub now you can still see a little something between my main men Touya and Yukito are my all time favourite in Ccs I’d recommend watching this show its so cute.
. Usagi and Seiya from Sailor Stars – In my opinion Seiya is better than Mamoru, Usagi should have chosen Seiya all the way he’s an absolute bae and a fantastic singer! I loved everything about these two their relationship was freaking adorable and it was pure cuteness.
. Last one and ya’ll know who it is because they are so popular in the anime community Yuri and Victor from Yuri On Ice, this show did a very good job of representing a gay relationship In a positive way the journey of Yuri and his coach Victor falling in love was excellent just everything about this couple is so precious I love them.
Hey guys I usually put a picture of the thing I’m talking about but for some reason I can’t upload anything tonight there’s some kind of error.
So I’ve recently become obsessed with Kurt Russell I’ve been watching his films and they’re just so fucking epic as he is the only film I need to watch is Backdraft which I’ve heard is a very good movie and really sad so I’m going to buy tissues 😂😂.
So onto Tango and Cash it’s an action buddy cop type of film about these two cops Sylvester Stallone is Tango I can’t remember his first name I’ll put it in when I come to editing and Gabriel Cash who is Kurt Russell.
This was the first time seeing this film and I enjoyed it there’s a lot of memorable scenes including Kurt Russell in drag *Not gonna lie Kurt pulls off as a chick im not kidding *, the prison fight where Tango and Cash beat the shit out of these thugs etc etc.
The acting is so good with Stallone and Russell their friendship in this film is hilarious they made such a fantastic duo.
This is considered a cult classic in my opinion I feel its quite underrated I loved it the only time where Stallone is actually funny I’m not too keen on his films but I like him in this one.
Hey guys enjoy the blog and happy Halloween to Ya’ll!
It’s been quite a good year for anime in my opinion My Hero Academia, the return of my childhood anime Cardcaptor Sakura Clear Card etc etc but Attack On Titan has been the best season yet.
I’ve only been watching the subbed version I haven’t seen the English Dub yet I’m a bit nervous to be honest I haven’t heard it but onto Season 3 it was definetly better than Season 2 you had more character development especially from Christa or Historia and also Levi she became a real badass in this season I was like ” Woah what happened to that sweet girl” 😂 I loved the scene where she’s finally crowned Queen Historia it made me emotional our little Christa all grown up!
Levi’s back story was really upsetting how he was brought up and his mother Kuchel dying I actually knew what was happening with his past because I read little snippets of the Manga before the season was announced the Manga is sadder but in this season it was even more eye brawling because its Levi I just wanted to give him a hug poor Heichou.
We got to see Zeke Yeager make his debut appaerence another husbando for me *those abs.. 👍😍😘 * I seriously cannot wait for Season 4 for him because shit is going down and him meeting his little brother Eren I’m just so excited it’s gonna be freaking awesome.
To finish I can say this season was brilliant, action packed and was pure mintness.
Halloween was directed by John Carpenter the master of horror and stars a young Jamie Lee Curtis in her first starring role I believe, this is what made her famous.
Now before we begin I literally seen this film for the very first time the other day so if I don’t cram the plot in I can’t remember the whole thing so apologies.
Halloween tells the story of Micheal Myers in the beginning of the film it takes place in 1963 Michael was six years old when he murdered his older sister Judith Myers, fifteen years later on October 30th 1978 Dr Samuel Loomis escorts Michael to court but he escapes and makes his way to Haddon field, he kills a mechanic steals his clothes and puts on his iconic white mask.
A teenage girl Laurie Strode sees Michael following her and that’s it I’m not going to spoil the rest.
My thoughts on the film:
I remember watching the opening scene when I studied Film at college we were doing horror cinema as part of our course and this was one of the films we had to study and I never saw the whole film until now I really enjoyed this film people I know were like ” Omg you have to watch Halloween it’s so good, such a classic film it’s what started the slasher genre” and I have to agree its a very classic film that all horror fans love I loved the music in it especially the main theme it’s pure gold, the acting in this film is good there’s a lot of corny lines but it was the 70’s ya’ll so you might have to get used to it.
I’d definetly recommend this film especially for tomorrow night I’m going to watch Halloween 2 which I’ve heard is even better.
Peace out and have a bloody good time tomorrow night !! ✌️🦇👻
Hey guys I thought in honour of Halloween tomorrow I’d review 80’s horror films starting with John Carpenter, I did a review of Escape From New York if you wanna check that out on with the review let’s jam!
The Thing is about these group of researchers who are in Antarctica they are led by R. J Macready played by Kurt Legendary Russell 😎😁 who probably has the most dopest hat in this film 😂😂 it’s awesome! When a husky dog comes to their base it transforms into this alien dog monster and kills the other huskies in a kennell * I was traumatised by this scene… * 😣 so this organism can imitate anything an animal and a human it can look and sound like someone, I won’t spoil the rest of the film.
My Thoughts On The Film:
I watched The Thing for the first time about 3 month ago and I’m gonna be honest for an early 80’s film it was dated and a bit cheap, I never found it scary throughout the film I pretty much laughed because it was cheesy but I love anything with 80’s over the top, overdramatic cheese so this was an enjoyable watch.
The special effects for The Thing were awesome I mean I could tell a lot of the effects were made of rubber or food colouring but it was still very good.
The way Carpenter shot the film was excellent it was definetly full of suspense and you didn’t know who The Thing was it was brilliant. The acting in this film is fantastic especially from Kurt Russell he’s just a legend in this movie everything he does is perfect 👌😊.
I’d recommend The Thing if your a big fan of Kurt Russell or want something to watch it’s a good flick with memorable scenes.
